I graduated from Calvin College with a degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering. Something I struggled with in college was how to use the gifts God has given me to be a servant of Christ to a needy world. My technical skills and the advancement of God's kingdom didn't seem to be directly related.Since then God has been showing me that there are many needs around the world where I can use those gifts to serve. I have had the opportunity to work with Christian ministries far away in Ecuador and Thailand, as well as closer to home in Indiana and Colorado. God has continually blessed me by leading me to serve with HCJB Global, a radio and health ministry, and Engineering Ministries International, a ministry for design in developing countries.
I am very excited to see what God has in store. My desire to serve is the driving force behind my efforts. Following the example of Christ is never easy, but no other reward can compare. I want to do my best to serve with open hands and an open heart.
Prayers are always greatly appreciated (just look at "Prayer Requests" on the side of this blog), the support I have received from family and friends has been amazing. I will need to continually strengthen my faith and rely on God to provide. Fortunately I know that God works in all things for good.
